Par "4" Club

Come enjoy the newly created Par "4" Club.  The purpose of this program is to meet on a regular basis and enjoy the fellowship and joy of playing golf with your friends.  Play as often as you desire.  No reservations required.  this program is open to all members, guests, men, women, boys & girls.  Here's the deal.

Meet at First Christian Church every 4th Monday @ 8:04 a.m. and depart to the course.  We will play different courses in Cookeville and the Upper Cumberland Area.

Scoring will be using a modified Stableford Scoring System.  This is the scoring system used in the recent PGA International Golf Tournament.  Points will be accumulated for bogeys, pars, birdies & eagles.  Put scorecards in Paul Sanders mailbox at church after each outing.  At the end of the year we will crown our "Player of the Year".  A plaque will be awarded to the recipient and his/her name will be displayed within the church halls.

Participation is encouraged and therefore rewarded with the point system.  The more you play the more opportunities you will have to score points.

Prayer is a way of life for all Christians and encouraged thru this club.  Therefore, during each outing on the 4th Tee we will pause and bring four-th our brothers and sisters in prayer.

Hosts for these events will be Paul Sanders, Mark Adams and Roger Fuqua.  We will arrange the course and be available for outings.

Cost will be the standard golf green fees + cart.  You are encouraged to invest in a Lung card or Cancer card as the plan will be to travel to surrounding courses.

Points will be as follows at least through 2004 and may be adjusted beginning 2005.

1 Point = Bogey

2 Points = Par

3 Points = Birdie

4 Points = Eagle

With the standard Stableford System points are deducted for bad holes, but we're not going to do that as we all will have bad holes and all of us are capable of having good holes.  Our first outing will be Monday, August 23rd.  More details to follow.
